Introducing Dr Michael Hutchings, opening Saturdays!!

We are so excited to introduce our new dentist Dr Michael Hutchings who will be starting with us on Saturday the 14th of April!He is a very welcome addition to our team and will be seeing patients until 8pm at night on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays... and all day on Saturdays!!!He will be the first male dentist we have worked with in a while and we are excited to give our patients more gender variety!! Facebook competition winner!!!!

Our facebook winner has completed her examination and x-rays, scale and polish and in chair bleaching... We also included two complimentary fillings as two of her anterior composites were old and stained.... the results are awesome!! ORAL CANCER

Jessie Tucker and Holly Christmas flew to Christchurch for the Dental Expo South this week- an industry expo showing all the latest technologies and equipment, with various speakers providing continuing education. A stand out topic today was with Professor Anita Nolan regarding oral cancers. Oral Cancer is the fourth most common malignancy in New Zealand with on average 350 cases and 130 deaths per year.Professor Nolan covered the various risk factors including smoking, alcohol, betel nut chewing, radiation, previous oral cancer, nutrition, sunlight, viruses especially HPV, poor oral hygiene, socio-economic deprivation, medications, immuno-suppression, marijuana and trauma.
